Seahawks vs Saints In Divisional playoff game

I was able to get a ticket to the playoff game!  Sec 308 row A seat 1!  A $200 miracle!

Funny thing is, I just saw these two teams a few weeks earlier on Monday night football. The weather at that contest was bitterly cold. This game was super windy and rainy.

i decided to take C line down town.  I parked my car at Alaska Junction and ran one block to the bus stop. I got soaked.

As I was standing htere under cover, this man stops and says "go Hawks" I said it back and paid no attention. He was not dressed in any Seahawk gear.  He then told me he was going to the game too. He asked me how much the bus costs.

When I got off the bus, I said hi to this guy again and we struck up a conversation walking to the game. He had never been to a game, was not a fan, but won two tickets in a company raffle!  I asked where the other ticket was, is he meeting someone? No, he couldnt find anyone to go to the biggest football game in Seattle in years!  ha ha.  He told me he left the ticket at home... sigh.. I know at leas two people who would have met the C  line downtown to get that ticket.. oh well.

Heres the funny part. I ask if he has good seats. He says yeah, Sect 308.. I said, I am in 308, what row? He says front row. I say I am in front row.  What seat? #4. I have #1. sure enough, we were sitting two seats away!  How odd considering there are 68,378 people at the game!  Good ol Byron. he left at half time!  It was pretty nasty weather for a non fan, but what a great seat he walked away from!

The game was fun, it wasn't too wet and windy in our seats.   I am sad that I can't get a ticket to the NFC Championship game, but that's the breaks.

view from my seat. No one in front of me!

Bikes for Africa

We had another bike packing event.   I have not been able to crack the B4HS mailing list, but I chose not to bother to sign up with One Brick. I have no interest in any of thier other volunteer opportunities. I walked up a little late and Frank gave me a shout out!  I am in.

The event went well, I was the last one out of there around 4.5 hours later.   Frank emailed me the group picture and now I am on the B4HS mailing list!  They planned an event last Saturday.. the day of the Seahawks divisional playoff series!  I pondered it, but since I had a ticket to the game, it was an inevitable decision to miss the bike event. Hopefully that won't keep me out of other opportunities to work with these good people.

Christmas

I went to cousin Mikes on Christmas Eve.  Dan, Tony, Mike, Sean, Danika and Sue Ann and her kids were there.
I was coming off a stomach bug so I didn't eat very much. Sean barbequed a salmon. I tried a piece cause I suspect they made it for me. It was good, but I couldn't hand the spices due to my stomach issues.

I got home and Bronwen had made the breakfast casserole for my breakfast the next am.  We went to bed early but Bronwen ended up getting the stomach bug that night.  It kept me up most the night.

The next am, Bronwen called in sick for work for the first time in 6 years or so.  I was very tired, but headed out to drive around and bring the casserole over, then pick up the girls.  Crista asked me to bring it over early so she could get us fed and out of there.  She has her own plans and we don't fit into them.

The girls were ready when I got there and they gave me a home made present of cookes in a jar. All the ingredients to make cookes, just add egg and milk I think.

We got to Cristas and found a space for me to open presents with my girls   I mostly gave cash and gift cards. I got Kelsey a signed Sherman Alexie book. Jessica said she read the book and loved it. I asked her where she got the book and she said I gave it to her!  She actually read a book I gave her?  Wow! Best part of Christmas!

Maddie gave me a hand made heat pad. It was hand sewed with some sort of bean it it. You heat in microwave and then its a heat pad. Cool I will use it I am sure.

We all sat and ate breakfast casserole. Crista had cinnamon rolls too.   I brought the traditional fanily recipe casserole with fake meat, while Crista being Crista, made a completely different casserole that in no way could be considered traditional.   As I don't eat meat, I can't vouch for its quality.
