Farewell to 3b13

Friday, January 30th, was our last day in the basement of Bell Plaza.

I have been working in the basement for nearly 10 years, and have many great memories from there. The work place is not very nice, but it was ours, we decorated any way we wanted, we played music, we had nerf gun wars, it was truly a unique work environment.

People watching on the corner of 7th and Pine in the courtyard. Watch for winos and crackheads, cause building security sure isn't!

Tommys hat still hangs above his old cube.

The names change, the story stays the same.

Ricks wall of business cards!

The old studio.

Conference room in Orange, thanks to Allie! Its been said you can get your daily vitamin C by spending an hour in there.

In my opinion, our coolest project ever, with an Olympic torch to prove it!

Shit flows down hill, good thing we shared a space with the pumps.

Stacy busily working in the green room

Nick surveys the packing progress

Welcome to Peak, may I help you?

Last basement bagels

Creepy long hallway, The Shining anyone?

Where is Ted?

Breakroom, one feature lacking in new space I am told

I wonder what that goo was that oozed out from the ceiling for decades?? surely its not hazardous, I mean, we are all fine, right?

The end of the chapter....

I thought a lot this weekend about my memories from the basement. The Nisqually Earthquake, WTO, the layoffs, Brad announcing Johns heart attack. Those are the things that first come to mind.

The freedom is what I will miss the most. Now we are in a space which is shared with another business. We can't turn the lights down and the music up, in fact, we cant even hang a poster on the wall without approval...

You sound like an institutionalized prisoner finally let out on parole, who is now considering a small B&E job to get back home. :-)

Even though it has been almost 7 years since my 'parole', I still have many strong memories of the unique flavor of 3B.

- My annoying everyone with 80's metal bands
- Ivan tossing the chair
- Natasha raising the baby bird
- The punching bag
- PM meetings in the 'studio'

on the sad note, my memory is Adam telling me about Matt Walters, then John's short emotional speech thereafter.

So many other memories, a lot of cool people, a lot of cool projects.

Nice job on the blog.

Thanks for sharing these Craig. It's been about 9 1/2 years since I left the basement. It's nice to see the place one last time. I can't believe you guys are no longer there.

Kyle: I also remember those PM meetings in the studio...with bagels! Wasn't there a ping-pong table there too?

I can't believe you've moved! I remember Natasha's bird too, the earthquake, the bagels, and the ping-pong table and poking through the old TV set supply storeroom. I can't believe it's been almost 7 years...

I have the "Minnesota" travel mug that Carrie gave me in my bag right now!
