This year we went to Longview on Christmas eve to see Bronwens family.
I checked the weather very carefully. It was above freezing and any snow accumulation was only to occur North of Seattle. Ok, lets take B's car, instead of my all wheel drive Honda. I still haven't gotten around to getting my stereo installed after it was removed during it's theft last year.
It started snowing once we got South of Olympia. We met at a thai/american place in Longview. It was still snowing, but temps were above freezing. We had a festive lunch, it was still snowing. We all went back to Carl and Marci's new house. It was still snowing. Finally, Kimmi spoke up, said he was worried about the roads, and wants to head out. It is still snowing. All day, I kept check on the temps and assumed the freeway would be in fine shape. It wasn't.
We moved along slowly up I-5 staying carefully in the tracks of the previous cars. We saw multiple spin outs and many cars in the ditch or median. We kept at it slowly. By the time we got to Pierce county, it started to get a little better. We made it home safely.
The next morning we were off to Kitsap. First stop was to get Kelsey. This time, we took the Honda. The highways were fine, but the backroads up to Kelseys were a little rough, but not too bad. We had no issues getting to Grandmas, with our Breakfast casseroles ready to put in the oven.
We ate our Breakfast casserole and opened presents at Cristas.

We have no outside outlets at this place! So, I used batter powered lights. |
