The Fiddle and the Drum
I finally saw my first professional dance performance. I have seen several local performances and I compare it to watching Highschool football vs NFL.
We attended "The Fiddle and the Drum" featuring music by Joni Mitchell and performed by the Alberta Ballet. It was at the Paramount theater.
I thought it was fabulous. I really enjoyed it and when it was over, I wished it could have went for one or two more songs.
The performance had an anti war message throughout. Behind the dancers were images of war, soldiers and other crazy random images. While I thought there were interesting, it took me away from the actual dancing. We were on the main floor, 20 rows back. This put the images above the dancers. If we were in the balcony, I suspect the images would have been behind the dancers, making it possible to watch both.
