Craig and B get married!

We have been together for 15 years.  We consider ourselves married,  and have discussed a legal marriage before.  We knew we would do it someday.   May 6 was the day.

A month or so ago, I said, lets go to Vegas for Cinco De Mayo and get it done.  We sat down and booked the trip then and there.

We left after work on Friday.  We arrived at 8 pm to a very hot Las Vegas.  It was 90 degrees.  I called for a town car to take us to the MGM Grand where we had a Suite waiting.

The suite was amazing.   It's huge!  two big windows look out away from the Strip.  The bed is  king and there is a couch and chair.  The bathroom was huge!  Marble floors, a jacuzzi tub, shower, 2 sinks   Bigger  than our current living room!

We checking in to room, unpacked then went to get a snack.  We were exhausted but wanted to eat.  We eventually ended up in the sports bar.    It had the Mariners game on,  tied up in extra innings.   B ordered a burger and I had Fish and Chips.  So much food   We sat  on the 'window' that looked out to the casino.  We watched streams of boxing fans,  with their headbands on,  Canello  or Chavez.  We watched very drunk girls in very tight dresses try to walk in high heels.

We heard some noise and saw that a group of young women were yelling . One person was crying ,and another was enraged and loud.  it went on, it got louder, it got closer.  We wondered why security had not tossed them out.   There was a chaperone, or at least an older woman ,we assumed was one of the young ladies, mother.   She grabbed the yelling girl, the girl was screaming,  the mom slapped her!   No effect.   It was a spectacle.  The server came by and said "dinner and a show"!

They finally broke it up.   We paid our bill and headed back to get some sleep.   We saw another group of drunk young ladies heading our way,   Down she goes!   fell over on her heels.   I had to move out of the way!

Then we saw a big crowd around a poker table.   I pushed my way in to see what the fuss was.  a bunch of cops and security guards had a perimeter around this very well dressed and fit Hispanic man.  No idea who he is.  I found out it was HOF boxer Juan Marquez, in for the fight.

The next day we got up and went to the Starbucks line! While I was in line, B went to the food court to get food.  We met in the food court.      We ate a hearty breakfast and headed to get our marriage license.

Outside the marriage license office (open 8 am - Midnight, 365 days a year), were people advertising for Chapels.  We have one already, reservation at 6.    Inside the facility, there is a huge line queue, that was empty.  There where a few people here, but no line.  We had pre registered, so we didn't have to fill out the forms.   We got to the window.  I asked if the line queue ever fills up and she said we had just missed the line.  It was out the door!   It comes in waves she says. Every day all day.

Then we went to Fremont street to locate Chapel.  We saw the Beef Jerky store.   We checked it out.  A lot of dried stuff . A lot of stuff we see at Uwajimaya.   We left,  and went to find the Chapel

The Chapel is in a place called Container Park.  It is a park that features shipping containers.  Mostly kid stuff.   The chapel is on the top floor.

We called a car and headed to Miracle Mall to find a dress.   The car was an Uber pool and the two people in the car where form Kitsap county!  Small world.

At the Mall, we rushed in and out of a bunch of stores before finding the right dress.   Then we raced back to the Hotel to check out the pool

The pool was like a scene in a movie.  Loud hip hop music blasting from every angle.   We finally found two empty recliners.  We put our stuff down and headed for the water.    It was very windy.    Everyone was dancing and drinking,  in the pool and around the pool.  I went to get us some beers.

We decided to go sit in the spa. No one was in it. We let the jets work our tired muscles.   Then, we headed back to get dressed for our wedding.    At the pool gate, they have a guy check you to make sure you have the appropriate attire for the Hotel and Casino.

We got ready and headed to our wedding.  We got there early and grabbed a beer.  We took them with us to the Chapel.  No drinks  sign on the door!   In Vegas?  She said they don't have their liquor license yet.  So we finished our beers outside  It appeared they were not busy.

We met the wedding official,  she asked us some stuff about what we want .  We met the photographer,  all set.

They took us next door to the Chapel and I took my place up front and B marched down the aisle.

We held hands as she read her speech. Then finally,  repeat after me.  YES!   we kissed, I pulled the ring out that B did not know I bought!

After the wedding we posed for a bunch of photos.   You get 8 free and then its 15 bucks per picture.  OR,  $150 for all 70.   We took all 70.

Off we went with our license and our pictures in a flash drive .

We headed back to the Hotel, and ate our dinner at the Buffet.

The buffet was pretty good.  They had a big seafood section with crab legs as the feature.  I had them give me a plate of legs.   B focused on the prime rib.

I went back and had them fry me some Trout!  It was good .  We were stuffed

We then went to the comedy show.   Somehow we managed to stay awake for the show!

The next day, our last day.  we took our time and relaxed in the room till Ten .I got coffee and tea from downstairs.    We packed ,then looked at our wedding picts and checked the weather.  10% chance of rain .  No takers on that 10-1 prediction.  it rained.

We took the monorail to the Harrahs stop and then went to the Venetian  for Breakfast.  We got a nice table on the Canal and watched the Gondola's go by.   The restaurant had a make your own Bloody Mary bar.  Fun idea.  Get it the way you want it.  We had one.

After that we headed to the Wheel.  The High Roller.  They say its the tallest in the world.   We got in a car with two other people.  They were sitting on the other side and the cars are quite big.  I heard them speaking in Russian.  I told B that there sound Russian and how can we ask them to take our picture at the top?    We brought Champagne to do our toast at the top.

The guy looks at me and says in perfect English. " I can hear you"  He explained that the cars have microphones that pick up your words and then amplify them.. .weird.      Well thank goodness I didn't say anything bad!

At the top we asked then to take our picture as we toasted our new marriage.   When we told them we were just married, they explained that in Poland,  you treat the newlyweds with a song, which they immediately broke into!

They took some nice shots of us.   We had a fun 30 minutes on the High Roller.

After that ,we went over to the Tropicana and had  another drink and worked our way back to the monorail to take us back to the MGM .

We did a bit more shopping a bit more drinking.  It was time to go.   Immediately after I had called an Uber,  I got a text message that the flight was delayed 50 min.  We cancelled the ride and went back  to do a bit more shopping and a bit more drinking

Another delay,   now it was 2 hr delay.   We headed to airport to get checking in and see about bumping off the oversold fkight.   Everyone else had the same idea.

We made it home around 11:30.   Got to bed at midnight and back to work, left house at 6 am.   ugh.
